Rolf Structural Integration promotes lasting improvement in posture, balance, range of motion, breathing, overall relaxation, and contact with one’s feelings. The Rolfer uses manual pressure to help you feel into and let go of tensions and rigidities in the connective tissue which pervades your body, wrapping every muscle and bone. As you let go of those tensions the connective tissue changes state, becoming more elastic. This is done in patterns throughout the body so that the increased elasticity allows for the relaxation of chronic tensions, easier erect posture, freer movement, and clearer bodily feelings.

Connective tissue will remain elastic unless it is re-injured, emotionally traumatized, or subjected to long-term stress. The benefits of Rolfing are thus relatively permanent.

Rolfing also increases one’s ability to feel emotions and energy in the body. In the process negative feelings stored from past experiences are often released. This will accelerate progress in psychotherapy or meditation training.

For those recovering from injury or surgery, Rolfing will very rapidly restore flexibility and circulation to scar tissue and joints.

Craniosacral Therapy uses gentle movements of the bones of the head, spine,

tailbone, and pelvis to release chronic tensions and increase their mobility.

Patterns of distress and dysfunction going back as far as childhood and even birth can be relieved. Common benefits are long-term relief from chronic pain and tension in the head, neck, or lower back, increased circulation, and release of negative

emotional memories.
